We had a great New Year's! Mike had to work during the day so the kids and I went to a big New Year's Eve party at the Treehouse Museum. They got their faces painted, made party hats, and had a great time playing. After we went shopping for dinner and snacks. We had a great time coming up with appetizer ideas that we decided that was the best dinner idea. We hurried home to get it all fixed and put together before our Dad got home. We had a lot fun eating, playing games, and watching a movie until midnight. Than we woke the dead!!! (Our neighborhood that is) Someone a street over had fireworks so we watched until we were frozen and went inside. The kids had a blast claiming it was much better than last year. I had to work last year and was not home and according to the kids their Dad was somewhat of a party pooper. We put on another movie and Haylie was out in about a half hour but Beth and Shelby hung on until about 2 when Mike and I said we had had enough and made them go to bed so that we could. Of course Shelby was up again by 8. Silly kid has some kind of internal clock. Hopefully will all get a nap!!! I do have to say that I did think about all the fun New Year's/Birthday parties we use to have in the old days with the Burgon boys. We did party hard didn't we! Hope you all had a great New Year's. I have no idea how you stay up until 2 in the morning. I was asleep on the couch at about 8 and we were in bed by two. I think I rolled over around 12 am when I heard some fireworks and cheers outside.
And don't think this is just because I am pregnant either! I can't remember the last year that I made it until midnight. As Kayla would say, "way too overrated!"
