Well hello everyone! I finally have my computer back after it being gone to get fixed for awhile. I'm sooo excited to get back to blogging I can hardly stand it. I really missed it with the computer gone and now I won't have as much time as I want to have to blog but soon that will pass to. Let me tell you what's new with the Butlers.
Nikki and I got to go to Women's Conference together the first 2 days in May and had a blast just us girls together. We weren't supposed to go together, just I was going alone, but Nikki fell off her bike while riding it to school on Tuesday and as seems her way she likes to stop her fall with her face. She had road rash under her nose, her lips were so swollen she looked like Aunt Jemima puckered for a kiss, and her face was quite swollen. Like any pre- teen she was mortified with her looks and wasn't letting anyone from school get a glimpse of her. That fall allowed her to go with me, define intervention at work? We left on Wednesday afternoon and drove to Janell's to stay. We were up bright and early Thursday at 5:00am to go practice with the Choir to sing in Thurs. open session. We attended all our classes together on Thurs. and then ate dinner, did the Sisters in Service, and then the concert that night. It was a long day, not to Janell's again til 11:30pm, but we had a blast and enjoyed it. Up at 6:00 am on Friday to get a good seat and parking for the opening session. Attended all our classes together again, ate lunch, and got to hear our new and wonderful living prophet speak to us in the closing session that afternoon. Nikki said she learned lots, felt the spirit really strong, and wants to go with me every year. I think we just might make it a tradition. It sure was fun spending time with her. That's one good thing about the kids growing up, you can do and enjoy so many things with them.
Nikki, Karl, and I got to take Tyson and Linzie swimming with us last Wednesday night. It was Nikki's big Girl Scout Family Swim. I had babysat Tyson in April and had wanted to take him swimming then but the pool wasn't open for public swimming during the time I had him so I had told him he could go swimming with us another time when we went. He kept asking Shauna when I was taking him and I really wanted to take him so when this GS Family Swim came up I called Shauna and told her I wanted to take Tyson. He was all excited to go, even when we pulled into the driveway, until I walked into the house, then he got a little nervous and wanted someone from his family to go with him. Cassidie had a friend over so Linzie got to be the lucky one to go with us. Of course when we got to the pool Karl, who can find someone he knows almost anywhere, ran off with a friend. Nikki swam with Linzie in the lazy river for a while but then she wanted to be with her GS friends so ran off. Linzie is a little fish in the water and THANK HEAVEN Shauna sent Ty Ty's floating swimsuit because he's not afraid of ANYTHING! They kept me on my toes but we had a BLAST, the three of us and I'm anxious to take them both again. I miss my 3 being little, but only sometimes. (refer to comment above about kids getting older.) After swimming I took everyone to McDonald's because all were hungry, none got to eat dinner before we went, and because I promised Ty Ty and LInzie I would while we were swimming. Needless to say Shauna was about to send a search party out for us by the time we got the kids home at 9:45pm. Oh well she'll get glad again and we had great fun! Aunts need to spoil and have fun with their nieces and nephews every once in a while!
Now you're probably wondering where Mitch was while we were swimming. Mitch is going to Boy Scout Camp this summer and they will be taking a big bike ride while there. The scout leader here keeps taking them on long bike rides to get them all prepared. Mitch was on a long bike ride to somewhere, once there they made dinner, ate it, and then rode back home. He was home and watching TV, his favorite past time, when we got home. He just loves scouts!
Our family has just loved the VERY few warm days we've had this spring. We went and planted 3 10' x 15' garden plots, (1 for each of our kids), with the Tooele Garden Club on Sat. morning for 2 hours and then came home and worked in our own yard for about 11/2 hours. Nikki and I were done with what we could do in the yard after this so we went shopping! We bought summer clothes and shoes for her and for me. It was a great , yet expensive, afternoon but we had fun. The boys got to finish the yard work and then roller bladed the rest of the time. It was 8:30 before Nikki and I got home then we spent the rest of the evening sitting on the front porch talking to our neighbor. Sunday we decided we'd take a picnic and the fishing poles and go to EG&G's lake for the afternoon. After church we loaded up all the food and dogs and headed out. It was a gorgeous day. The boys, Ken, and Nikki all fished catching 3 fish. Mitch 1, Karl 1, and 1 Ken's friend from work, who was there fishing, gave them. I made invitations to the kids swim party, read my book, watched the dogs, and RELAXED all afternoon. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Well I need to go because Shauna is on her way to get me to go to lunch. See you all!

Sounds like you are all doing well! We have done a bit of fishing ourselves this spring. It has been fun! I would love to go to womens conference with you next time. I have never been. It really sounds fun and uplifting!
